Chartreuse is a French liqueur that claims to be the only liqueur in the world that comes by its green color completely naturally. The formula for the 130 botanicals blended and distilled to make it dates back to 1605 and is known to only two Chartreuse monks who also hold the secret of which plants to macerate to produce the natural green and yellow hues of their products and supervise the liqueurs’ aging in oak casks.
